Flesh And The Fiends: Double Feature – Edinburgh, 1827. Two Irish immigrants hit upon the idea of selling the bodies of the recently deceased to eminent surgeon Dr. Robert Knox. Dr. Knox, knowing that experimental vivisection is the only way for medicine to make progress, forms an uneasy alliance with the self-styled body snatchers. But when their supply of corpses runs out, they decide to murder for their inventory. Knox, who has turned a blind eye, is forced to defend himself with all of his skill and intelligence as everyone closes in, condemning his controversial actions. Graveyard Of Horror – Dead beings and a bloodsucking lizard-man populate this atmospheric and bizarre European gothic shocker! Scientist Michael Sharrington conducts strange experiments on the transmutation of human cells, which involves hibernating bodies and pumping chemicals into the bloodstream. One night he decides to perform these tests on himself and winds up buried in the local cemetery. When he returns to consciousness, the results will leave you screaming! Raiders Of The Living Dead – In an abandoned prison, a doctor has revived executed convicts as the living dead. Teenager Scott Schwartz (A Christmas Story) creates a weapon from a videodisc player#s laser and pursues the walking dead, aided by his girlfriend and grandfather (western star Bob Allen). A reporter (Robert Deveau) on the trail of the story is helped by the town librarian, played in her final film role by Zita Johann (Boris Karloff’s “The Mummy,” “The Sin of Nora Moran”). “Josh Dorfman’s perspective is a leading voice for anyone involved in new consumer-based environmentalism.”—Tom Arnold, TerraPass
We can’t all camp out in old-growth forests, lying down in front of the bulldozers. And it’s not only that we’re too busy: Some of us just don’t want our fabulous threads to get caked with mud.
But that doesn’t mean we don’t care passionately about the environment. Luckily, the days when becoming environmentally aware entailed eating bread that tasted like dirt, wearing clothes that looked like frayed burlap sacks, and spending summer vacations assailing whaling ships with Greenpeace are passing away. It is now perfectly possible (and increasingly easy) to be well fed, well coiffed, well dressed, and well traveled while remaining deeply committed to an ecologically sustainable lifestyle.
In The Lazy Environmentalist, Josh Dorfman—host of the Sirius Satellite Radio program of the same name—provides comprehensive guidance to fashion-forward consumers who are as concerned about the long-term health of our planet as they are about the design of their bathroom fixtures. Covering topics that range from clothing to electronic gadgetry, home decor to recreation, and gardening to financial investment, Dorfman lets us know which trends to watch and which eco-conscious products—cars, toothbrushes, cell phones, pet accessories—to buy. Green, it turns out, can be an extremely stylish color.
“Every day most of us have to choose between products that either look the same or do the same thing. So why not buy the product that causes the least harm to the planet? The Lazy Environmentalist is a useful guide toward making the right decisions.”
- Yvon Chouinard, founder and owner, Patagonia, Inc.
“Everything you always wanted to know about greener living but were afraid to spend the rest of your life researching. Here’s a great start.”
- Chris Paine, writer and director, Who Killed the Electric Car?
“Instead of thinking about it … DO IT. Buy this amazing book and get the scoop on products and ways to take care of this great planet. Become part of the movement that is loving the earth the way it truly deserves to be cared for!”
-Mariel Hemingway, actress and author of Healthy Living from the Inside Out

Beth Greer had been living what she considered a healthy lifestyle when a medical crisis prompted her to reevaluate everything—from the food she ate to the personal-care products she used and the environment she lived in. Now, in Super Natural Home, she shows the alarming extent of the dangerous chemicals we unwittingly expose ourselves to every day. As she did in her own life, she invites readers to put their lives under a microscope—to scrutinize what Americans put in and on their bodies and bring into their homes—and to make personal choices that will enable them to “live clean” in a toxic world.
The straightforward, solutions-based approach of Super Natural Home—complete with quizzes to help identify and correct potential toxic hot zones—speaks directly to what environment-conscious consumers really need: ultra-practical advice on what they can do right now to limit exposure to the poisons that are endangering them and their children. At a time when impeccable scientific research points to an alarming correlation between common chemical compounds and cancers, allergies, psychiatric disorders, and birth defects, among other serious health concerns, Super Natural Home gives consumers the tools to start protecting themselves and their families.

The Lion Knight (Alexis Loret) is a young nobleman who searches the countryside with his faithful lion companion (who happens to resemble a pet dog). The Lion Knight encounters youthful Nicolas (Adrien Michaux) while the lad takes a walk in the woods, and together they set off to find the Ogre (Arnold Pasquier), who holds young women against their will and lives by eating the flesh of young children. While the Lion Knight is hot on the Ogre’s trail, Nicolas is visited by an apparition of the Maiden of the Chapel (Laurène Cheilan), who has been captured by the beast. The Maiden gives Nicolas an enchanted sword and orders him to use it to kill the Ogre; meanwhile, the Lion Knight has found the Ogre’s lair, but soon falls in love with Pénélope, the monster’s unexpectedly pretty and compassionate wife. Along the way, the characters also find the time to discuss the French legal system and the writings of philosopher Jacques Lacan.

Just Enough is a book of stories, depictions of vanished ways of life told from the point of view of a contemporary observer. The stories tell how people lived in Japan some two hundred years ago, during the late Edo Period, when traditional technology and culture were at the peak of development and realization, just before the country opened itself to the West and joined the ranks of the industrialized nations. They tell of people overcoming many of the identical problems that confront us today–issues of energy, water, materials, food and population–and forging a society that was conservation-minded, waste-free, well-housed, well-fed and economically robust.
From these stories, readers will gain insight into what it is like to live in a sustainable society, not so much in terms of specific technical approaches, but rather, in terms of how larger concerns can guide daily decisions and how social and environmental contexts shape our courses of action. These stories are intended to illustrate the environmentally-related problems that the people in both rural and urban areas faced, the conceptual frameworks in which they viewed these problems, and how they went about finding solutions. Included at the end of each section are a number of lessons in which the author elaborates on what Edo Period life has to offer us in the global battle to reverse environmental degradation. Topics covered include everything from transportation, interconnected systems, and waste reduction to the need for spiritual centers in the home.
Just Enough, more than anything else, is about a mentality that pervaded traditional Japanese society and which can serve as a beacon for our own efforts to achieve sustainability now.

RECIPES FOR MAKING YOUR OWN CLEANING SUPPLIES:
****Always test in a small area first****
1.
All-purpose cleaner: Combine ¼ vinegar, ¾ water with a drop of eco-dish soap, in a spray bottle.
2.
Oven cleaner: Use a steamer with baking soda for scrubbing. If you don’t have a steamer, spray oven with water and vinegar, sprinkle baking soda over area and let sit while doing other tasks. Wipe clean.
3.
Toilet bowl cleaner: Use acetic acid/concentrated vinegar (use carefully as directed – it is a strong acid) then baking soda. Sprinkle baking soda around inside of toilet bowl, add some white vinegar and let sit a few minutes before cleaning with a toilet brush.
4.
Furniture cleaner: Blend 50% olive oil with 50% vinegar or lemon juice.
5.
Drain cleaner: Pour 125 ml of baking soda down the sink and add at least a cup of vinegar. Put the cover on the drain and wait a few minutes or overnight. Finish by rinsing thoroughly with a mixture of boiling water and salt.

Chapter 4 – Baby Products
Summary:
Try to feed your children organic foods and introduce natural products as early on as possible.
Breast feeding is the #1 choice for infants.
Make your own baby food, puree it and freeze it in ice cube trays. This way you will know exactly what your baby is eating.
Clothing for children should be durable and chemical-free. Natural clothing is a safe way to dress your child. Consider consignment stores and hand-me-downs for growing children.
Look for safe, non-toxic toys made of natural rubber or organic cotton. Toys made from natural wood or bamboo are other safe alternatives.
Crib frames should be made from wood or bamboo products and treated with a safe non-toxic substance. Organic mattresses should be made of natural rubber and bedding should be made with organic cotton.

Four Principles of Natural Lawn Care:
1.
Observation: Understand your lawn. Know where the sun falls, where water puddles and what kind of soil you have. Then make better decisions about how to look after it.
2.
Trust in Mother Nature: Mother Nature provides many tools to help us. Learn the ways in which the insects in your garden are beneficial for it.
3.
Don’t Over-Treat: When you treat your lawn with chemicals, you’re in a rush to fix problems right away. In natural lawn care, be patient, observe and let nature take its course.
4.
Be Patient: We’re dealing with nature, you can’t force growth. Often, things self-correct and you will be able to relax and enjoy your garden.
